The MSK Ultrasound mentorship is designed, written and delivered by a team of specialist consultant MSK radiologists and consultant sports medicine physicians. It is aimed and designed for health practitioners who already possess the basic knowledge and fundamentals of MSK Ultrasound and are looking to further develop and refine their skills. We believe that to create exceptional clinicians, MSK ultrasound requires thousands of hours of practice with supervision, support and feedback.

This hybrid course spans over the course of 9 months with 2 in-person scanning days every 2 months. Between the in-person sessions it is expected that the attendees go off and practice what they have learnt accumulating a set number of hours. During their time away from the sessions they will also have access to e-learning resources, in-depth online tutorials and remote case discussions.

It is delivered at an intermediate level where the basic knowledge of MSK Ultrasound are assumed, so this is a great way to develop your knowledge following on from YSM Academy's MSK Ultrasound Foundation course. Attendees will have access to the newest technology in Ultrasound, with a guarantee of a maximum of 3 students to a machine.

All of our in-person scanning days follow a similar format utilising the morning session to recap knowledge around scanning that body part and practicing on fellow attendees and the afternoon will base around scanning external patients. Tutors will be on hand to help with any queries or questions that may arise throughout the day.

There is no formal assessment for the mentorship course as it is focussed around bettering our skills and putting what we know and learn into practice. Throughout the course your skills will be monitored through formative assessments and areas may be picked up on to work on together with your tutors and course leads.
